Cats Are Beautiful In Every Way
Cats are beautiful in every way. The weird thing about cats is that they are everywhere. I always find their behavior interesting to watch. Each one is unique in how they approach the people that around them. My father loves cats and how they surround him in a protective way mystifies their love for humans. I find the alley cats the most interesting than the ones raised at home.
To give you a brief history of these lovely creatures, according to the website Alley Cat Allies (https://www.alleycat.org/resources/the-natural-history-of-the-cat/) cats began their unique relationship with humans 10,000 to 12,000 years ago in the Fertile Crescent, the geographic region where some of the earliest developments in human civilization occurred (encompassing modern day parts of West Asia). I often wonder if these cats are off springs of the lions, leopards and tigers, it’s so weird that they are like the mini version of these Kings and Queens of the jungle. I won’t get into the research that I read about in this post.
One particular place that has a huge population of cats is Turkey, in which Ceyda Torun created this amazing film called "Kedi" (www.kedifilms.com). This film is about seven cats that live in the streets of Istanbul, Turkey and shows the relationship that the people have with these charming little guys that roam in their streets. The movie officially screens on February 10th in the New York City theaters Metrograph and Lincoln Plaza Cinema. I can’t wait to see it!
I took this quote away from the trailer of "Keidi" spoken by an older gentleman. “The love of animals is a different kind of love, if you can’t love animals you cant love people either.”
